Welcome to another week of expert football betting tips, where I will be gifting you some excellent accumulator picks that offer supreme value.

Last week, an incredible weekend of football, as we saw Bayern Munich demolish rivals Dortmund, Liverpool go back to the top of the Premier League, Barcelona leave it late to edge past 10 men Atletico Madrid, and Gerard Deulofeu stole the show as Watford secured a place in the FA Cup final following an incredible comeback against Wolves.

I was a whisker away from some of my huge earnings as I correctly predicted Manchester City to win by a 1-goal margin, and also there to be a winner from extra time in the other semi-final – but I had Wolves over Watford. Other accumulator tips from last week were agonizingly close too, but I am here again, giving you my expert tips based on stats, analysis, and most importantly, my football intuition.

For this upcoming week, our focus primarily turns to the Champions League, as the quarter finals take place, but we still have the Europa League, and a full weekend of key league matches across Europe. Let’s get cracking!

‘Champions League Special’

As usual, in a Champions League week, I like to use my sixth sense of envisaging how the four games across the Champions League will pan out. From this, I will predict four scenarios to happen, one per game, and put them together in an accumulator bet. I don’t have to be too irrational, or too audacious to get the odds to be sky high, so here is what I have in store for this Champions League special.

Match One: Liverpool vs Porto

Liverpool are overwhelming favourites to pass through to the semi-finals, with underdogs Porto (66/1 to win the competition), in their path. Last season, these sides played in the round of 16, where Liverpool had won 5-0 in Porto in the first leg, before a rather dull 0-0 game happened at Anfield in the 2nd leg. Many will expect Liverpool to come out all guns blazing and get a comfortable victory, but I can see Porto being a sterner test this season. I expect a 2-0 hard-fought victory for the hosts, with Mohammed Salah getting on the scoresheet. Porto may even nick a goal, but a home win with Salah scoring would be my tip.

Match Bet: Mohammed Salah to score and Liverpool to win at 6/5.

Match Two: Tottenham vs Manchester City

The all-English tie, which was inevitable, sees Tottenham host Manchester City and the first leg has an extra story, as it will be played at the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium. The stadium was built for this type of match, and it would be disappointing for Tottenham if they were to be eliminated at this stage, and fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League by dropping out of the top four – which is a real possibility. Manchester City will play a big part in Tottenham’s fate, and would fancy themselves to progress here. I do believe they will, but I have to back a home win here, which is generous for any type of win, from the bookmakers.

Match Bet: Tottenham to win by a 1-goal margin at 11/2.

Match Three: Ajax vs Juventus

The 1973 and 1996 finals will be repeated at the quarter final stage, and these two teams had to stage incredible comebacks in the previous round to be here. Ajax have surpassed any expectations they may have had, and will have acquired confidence already to believe they can get past Juventus.

The visitors are one of the favourites to win the competition, and with Cristiano Ronaldo in attack, they have that world class player to be the difference for them, which have been lacking in recent seasons where they have been labelled ‘the nearly men’. He will return from his latest injury, but I believe he isn’t a dead-cert to score, as he is yet to score away from home in the Champions League this season. Yet, I am going to back the man to end that record.

Match Bet: Cristiano Ronaldo to score at any time at 6/5

Match Four: Manchester United vs Barcelona

Manchester United have had a full week to prepare for the biggest game at Old Trafford for quite some time, as they entertain Lionel Messi who has taken his form to ever higher standards in recent months. His contributions, dribbles, assists, goals, and even a panenka free-kick continues to surprise us, not matter how long he is has been at the top of the game. Manchester United will look to see how they stop Barcelona, but most football experts will predict them to concede a few.

However, Barcelona didn’t score past Lyon in the previous round away from home, and in previous quarter final away legs and Manchester United have kept clean sheets at home to Liverpool this season – so it’s possible. I expect Barcelona to qualify overall, but they’ll have a difficult night here in Manchester. Be bold, and trust the likes of Chris Smalling, and Phil Jones….to be on the bench.

Match Bet: Manchester United to keep a clean sheet at 4/1.

Bet Summary: For those four scenarios to come true, by backing them all in an accumulator-style, you will see odds of about 157/1.

‘Bounce Back in Style’

For my next accumulator, I am going to pick three teams that suffered this past week, and lost points or crucial games, and for them to get back to winning ways as they try to recover. Usually, some football teams respond excellently, and produce an opposite type of performance, whereas some teams get a knock-on effect, and lose their confidence significantly. I am going to go with the former, and choose three teams to record wins, in style, this upcoming week.

Match One: Arsenal vs Napoli

Arsenal were disappointing this past week against Everton, as they were out-thought, out-fought, and utterly hopeless for 90 minutes, as they mustered just two shots on target in a 1-0 defeat. They have bounced back strong many times this season, and I anticipate them getting a good win on Thursday night against a talented Napoli side in the Europa League. At home, Arsenal have been fantastic for quite some time, and I expect them to get goals here, to take a good advantage to Naples for the 2nd leg.

Match Bet: Arsenal to win, and there to be more than 2.5 goals in the match at 9/4

Match Two: Borussia Dortmund vs Mainz

Borussia Dortmund were embarrassed last season in a 6-0 thrashing at Bayern Munich, and when the sides met again this past weekend in a title decider, nobody had anticipated that their performance would be quite so disastrous again. However, that was the case, as they lost 5-0 to Bayern Munich, where they had shipped 4 first half goals. That defeat sent Dortmund to 2nd in the table, with 6 games to go. All is not lost though, and Dortmund still have a chance to win the league, but they may have to win all of their games now, starting with a game against Mainz. I expect them to triumph here, against a side who have lost four of their last five.

Match Bet: Dortmund to score 4+ goals at 11/4

Match Three: Lille vs PSG

PSG could have been crowned champions had they won at home to Strasbourg this past weekend, but they could only draw 2-2 in a disappointing performance from them. That draw keeps the distance at the top, to current runners-up Lille to 20 points, with only 7 games to play. The sides now meet each other this week, and if PSG were to avoid defeat, they would be crowned champions this weekend instead. Not only do I think that they will achieve that, but I also think they may do it in a convincing and dominant way – as they have played throughout the majority of the season.

Match Bet: PSG to win by a 2 goal margin or more at 9/5

Bet Summary: For those three teams to bounce back with style, you will be rewarded with odds of about 33/1 if you be wise and go for it.

‘Goals Galore’

For my final bet, I am going to go goal-crazy, and pick two games where I believe that both teams will score in both halves. The odds for this type of bet are really generous, so correctly picking two matches with that outcome will boost your earnings significantly. It’s a regular occurrence on a weekend of football where high scoring games do include goals from both teams happening throughout the match, but the real skill is to identify them. Here are my two selections.

Match One: Burnley vs Cardiff

Both sides are in a real scrap to stay in the Premier League this season, but back-to-back wins for Burnley has eased the pressure for them. They are now 8 points clear of Cardiff in 18th spot, but if they were to lose this match, they’d be in a spot of both as their last four matches include the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. Let’s hope both teams will play end-to-end football to get those crucial goals.

Match Bet: Both teams to score in both halves at 12/1

Match Two: Huesca vs Barcelona

Now, this may have surprised you, but I have my reasons. In the reverse fixture, both sides did score in both halves in a high-scoring 8-2 result for Barcelona. Not only that, but Huesca recently faced Real Madrid, and in that game, both teams scored in both halves. Therefore, it does happen, and the odds are more than kind to get yourselves some serious earnings. I believe Barcelona will win, sure, but let’s hope they score loads and be complacent at the back.

Match Bet: Both teams to score in both halves at 7/1

Bet Summary: For goals coming from all those four teams, in both halves will give you odds of about 103/1.

That concludes my betting tips for this week. Let’s hope for entertainment in all the critical matches across the continent, and don’t forget to enjoy the football, and hopefully your winnings!
