Welcome to another edition of footballing tips for the key games across this week in all the top leagues in Europe and in addition to that, the Champions League and Europa League.

We had a remarkable last week once again, with the Champions League taking centre stage in the week, and that was followed by domestic action which saw Barcelona, PSG and Juventus not register a win. It was the first time that has happened this season, and whilst Barcelona and Juventus were resting players for their upcoming Champions League clash, PSG had no excuses as they were embarrassed as they failed to secure the French League title, living up to their ‘bottle job’ tag once again.

Elsewhere, super Salah scores a sublime goal as Liverpool remain top of the Premier League after beating Chelsea and Bayern Munich win 4-1 to keep just above Dortmund in Bundesliga. Now, as we move onto this week, we have four evenly poised Champions League clashes, Europa League matches, an abundance of Easter football at the weekend, so here are my expert betting tips for accumulators this weekend.

I provide you stats, insights, and my gut intuition on what will happen over the week, and offer you fantastic value odds to maximise your earnings. Bring it on!

‘Champions League Special’

Manchester United let me down in my last week’s Champions League Special bet, as I backed them to keep a clean sheet which looked a silly decision after 11 minutes when Luis Suarez scored for Barcelona. Of course it was a gamble, however, I was happy to see that they defended resurgently afterwards, so that gives me confidence that I haven’t lost my ability to predict games just yet!

As I did last week, I will predict the 2nd leg of the Champions League quarter final clashes, backing four scenarios, one for each game, and to comply it together to give us a value-boosting accumulator. All the ties are relatively close, and it’s hard to predict the winner, let alone more niche bets to really maximise the odds here.

Match One: Barcelona vs Manchester United

Barcelona are overwhelming favourites to progress as they only need to avoid defeat to go through, and losing at home in a Champions League knock-out match for them is almost unheard of. Yes, many optimistic Manchester United fans will remind you that they won the Champions League in the Nou Camp stadium 20 years ago, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer getting the winner, and now he manages the current crop of United stars to repeat history again.

But, I cannot see Manchester United getting the same amount of luck as they did in Turin against Juventus, or in Paris against PSG, which they both won. Lionel Messi doesn’t have two quiet games in a row, and I expect him to score, and Barcelona to win relatively comfortably in the tie. Read more predictions and our full h2h here

Match Bet: Lionel Messi to score 2+ goals and Barcelona win at 6/1

Match Two: Juventus vs Ajax

Ajax had no fear in their first leg, as they took the game to the Italian Champions. Ajax have been on an excellent ride in the Champions League this season, and have gone toe-to-toe with Bayern Munich, humiliated Real Madrid, and look like they can achieve the semi-finals by ousting past Juventus. However, the experience that Juventus has may be the telling difference which will be shown in the 2nd leg.

Cristiano Ronaldo was bought so Juventus could go one step further in the competition and win it all, and his four goals in the last two games are pivotal. Ajax will try their passing game, be energetic, cause Juventus a lot of problems – but the hosts will win here, as they are looking increasingly formidable at home, and extremely determined for European success. Full game preview, h2h and predictions read more here

Match Bet: Juventus to win and keep a clean sheet at 15/8

Match Three: Manchester City vs Tottenham

Out of all the ties, this one has to be the one that could be decided by a flip of a coin. Odds show that Manchester City are at 4/6 to qualify, with Tottenham at 11/10, so you have to be bold in whatever way you foresee the match. Manchester City should win on the night, and I believe they will, but will they be able to win by two clear goals which they need?

A home 2-1 win would see the visitors progress on away goals, and they are more than capable of getting a goal despite the absence of Harry Kane. My gut tells me Manchester City will win 3-1, taking them through, so I am going to back there to be at least 3.5 goals in the game, with the hosts winning, so it can cover us a bit. Read our full game predictions here

Match Bet: Manchester City to win and there to be at least 3.5 goals in the game at 6/4

Match Four: Porto vs Liverpool

The game of the round that looks to be one-sided is the Porto/Liverpool match here, with the visitors taking a 2-0 lead to Portugal. Any goal for them would double the trouble for the hosts, meaning Porto need to perform a perfect match, and hope Liverpool were to have an off-day.

I expect Porto to give a valiant attempt here, but Liverpool are flying in all competitions, and have a real chance of obtaining an infamous double. They’ll qualify, but I expect Porto to get a somewhat positive result on the night, perhaps a score draw, or even a narrow victory. An early goal would be great for them to put the tie within reachable distance, and that’s what I am going for, at fairly kind odds. Get more detail here, full game h2h and betting predictions

Match Bet: Porto to score the first goal in the game at 5/4

Bet Summary: In total, those four realistic scenarios (sorry Manchester United fans), can give you odds of about 112/1 if you add them all together in an accumulator-type bet. No joke.

‘Europa League Comebacks’

For this double accumulator bet, I am backing there to be comebacks galore in the Europa League (well, two, but that is 50% of the round). Evidence is there over the years, and in recent rounds, that the first leg is just the first half, and many teams can overcome large deficits to progress into the next round.

Not only that, but the odds of backing these to happen, are at fantastic value, and shouldn’t be an opportunity missed for anyone. There are four quarter finals in the Europa League, and I see Chelsea and Valencia as good as through in their respective ties, but Napoli and Frankfurt may just complete an incredible comeback.

Match One: Napoli vs Arsenal

Napoli were desperately poor in the first leg on the tie, and are lucky to still be within a chance of progressing as Arsenal could only bury two of their many great chances. Thankfully for the Italian side, Arsenal are officially woeful away from home, having lost to Bate Borisov and Rennes in the recent rounds.

On the flipside, Napoli have been excellent at home all season, as they managed to match PSG and beat Liverpool comprehensively back in the Autumn. They’ll have to overturn a deficit of two goals which won’t be easy, and any away goal for Arsenal would put Napoli on the brink. However, we could witness a big night here in Naples, so let’s back it! Read our full game preview here

Match Bet: Napoli to qualify at 10/3

Match Two: Frankfurt vs Benfica

A goal down and a man down in the first leg for Frankfurt wasn’t the best start to the tie, and it all went horribly wrong when they were losing 4-1 with 20 minutes left on the clock. However, Frankfurt managed to get a 2nd goal, reducing the deficit to two goals, whilst also scoring vital away goals. That goal may prove to be significant, as a 2-0 or 3-1 win at home would see them progress. It’s certainly possible, even if this free-flowing Benfica side seem to score an average of four goals a game in recent weeks.

Frankfurt are capable of turning this around and their comeback would be assisted with an early goal, and keeping 11 men on the field for the whole game. Can Frankfurt power on to the semi-finals?

Match Bet: Frankfurt to win by a 2-goal margin at 4/1

Bet Summary: You can bet on the matches individually, but I’d recommend putting the two together to see odds go up to 20/1. The two teams are capable of turning the tie around, and you’ll want to profit from this.

‘Crowning the Champions’

The title races in Bundesliga and Premier League will most likely go down to the final match of the season. Not only that, but there are tight title races in Portugal, Netherlands, Turkey and more. In Spain, Barcelona are on their way to win La Liga, but that won’t be confirmed on the next match day. So, who can win it next weekend?

Juventus and PSG are just one win away from securing their domestic league title, so I’ve decided to back them both to finally be crowned champions, and getting an emphatic result this upcoming weekend.

Match One: Nantes vs PSG

PSG had the chance to secure the French league title last week by just avoiding defeat to 2nd placed Lille, but it ended in a disastrous 5-1 defeat. Down to 10 men, PSG had no answer to Lille’s prominent attacking display in the 2nd half, as they peppered PSG’s goal with many shots and were able to be clinical to really embarrass the champions-elect. PSG have now blown the title two weeks in a row, and their ability to win when it really matters is astonishing.

They are well and tuly bottle jobs, and its understand they are nicknamed ‘The French Spurs’. However, I expect them to get the victory here, with main man Kylian Mbappe getting the all-important goals. Surely they cannot fail for a 3rd consecutive week?

Match Bet: Kylian Mbappe to score first in a 3-1 win at 17/1

Match Two: Juventus vs Fiorentina

Juventus could have also won the league title last week, but they had rested players to prepare for the Champions League clash with Ajax on Tuesday. They lost 2-1 to SPAL, but I expect that most of their key players will return for this match against Fiorentina. Most notably, Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to play some part, as Juventus will want this league title buried this weekend, so they can plan ahead for a potential semi-final. Just like PSG, Juventus were always going to win their domestic title, and we’ll finally see the title celebrations this weekend – their 8th consecutive title.

Match Bet: Cristiano Ronaldo to score first in a 2-0 win at 11/1

Bet Summary: Correctly predicting the results and first goal scorers for these teams which will secure them the league title will give you odds of 215/1. Just two matches, two possible scenarios, and a huge amount of money to gain!
