An incredible weekend of football has just surpassed, which proves yet again you cannot predict anything in this sport. If you want dead-certs, back Roger Federer or Novak Djokovic in the early rounds in Tennis, but in football, nothing is ever certain. Manchester City were the stand-out performers of the week, as they put 6 (six!), past Chelsea. Odds were about 75/1 for that to happen, so feel free to be brave at times. Anyway, European football returns this week, with the Champions League and Europa League returning to give our mid-week more joy, before another round of fixtures this weekend.

Here, you’ll read top expert football betting tips for the week ahead, so for you to try and increase the money in your bank account, add change to your pockets, and for me, to feed my ego with more correct predictions! I am not always right, so take my advice as more of a direction, as opposed to an instruction, but I have won many in the past, and will many more in the future. Let’s hope that you back me, backing them (the players, the teams), so it’s a win-win situation for us all.

‘Champions League Special’

The Champions League will return on Tuesday, as we see the first legs of the first four matches in the round of 16. This is when the competition gets really exciting, as the top teams, and the top players from across Europe get it on. In my first tip of the day, I am going to create a four-match accumulator across Tuesday and Wednesday night’s games.

Match One: Manchester United vs PSG

Perhaps, the most anticipated fixture of all the matches in the last 16. When the draw was made, PSG were overwhelming favourites to progress, but given Manchester United’s revival, and PSG missing key players such as Edison Cavani and Neymar, this really could go either way. Manchester United have won 10 out of their last 11 matches, but their toughest test was at Tottenham where they were lucky to earn a 1-0 victory. This will be undoubtedly their biggest test, and if they are to take a lead to Paris, then there is no doubt that they can progress to the quarter finals, which was unthinkable a few months ago. It’ll be a tight game, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the lucky charm for Manchester United, and can their unbelievable domestic record extend to Europe?

Match Bet: Manchester United to win by exactly one goal at 3/1 bet now betting on football

Match Two: Roma vs Porto

The sides have only met once before in the Champions League just a couple of seasons ago, which Porto won 4-1 on aggregate as they qualified for the Champions League, and Roma were condoned to the Europa League. This season, both teams will fancy their chances of reaching the quarter finals, and will be pleased to have drawn each other. Porto are missing their main strikers, whereas Roma have players who have reached the latter stages of this tournament and scored goals on the big occasions – none more so than Edin Dzeko. Will he be the difference?

Match Bet: Edin Dzeko to score and Roma to win at 12/5 bet now betting on football

Match Three: Ajax vs Real Madrid

On Wednesday night, four-time champions Ajax host 13-time champions Real Madrid. Ajax have improved significantly in Europe this season, thanks to youngster Frenkie de Jong who has pulled the strings for the Dutch club. He is signing for Barcelona at the end of the season, so he will be strongly supported in the cities of Amsterdam and Barcelona for this game. They managed to draw home and away to Bayern Munich in the group stage, but playing the current holders Real Madrid poses a whole new task altogether, who are starting to find form once again at the business end. Real Madrid have won the last 6 meetings between the clubs, and I think that they will get their 7th consecutive win here.

Match Bet: Real Madrid to win, and both teams to score at 15/8 bet now betting on football

Match Four: Tottenham Hotspur vs Borussia Dortmund

The mouth-watering clashes just keep on coming! Both sides have been fantastic throughout their domestic seasons, with Tottenham sticking with Manchester City and Liverpool in the title race, despite all their disadvantages, and Dortmund keeping top spot ahead of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. Tottenham will be glad just to be here, given that they were so close to elimination in the group stage. As for Dortmund, they proved they can compete with the best after they defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 in the group stage. I can’t call this one, and I think this could even go to extra time in the second leg. Draw in the first leg for me…and goals.

Match Bet: Score draw (1-1, 2-2 or 3-3) at 3/1 bet now betting on football

Bet Summary: For all those scenarios to come true, you can get amazing odds of 156/1.

‘FA Cupsets’

In my last tipster article when the FA Cup fourth round was commencing, I managed to correctly predict a 20/1 three match accumulator. I backed AFC Wimbledon to avoid defeat to West Ham, which they won. I backed Barnet to avoid defeat to Brentford, which they drew. And, I backed Crystal Palace to beat Tottenham, which they did. In the FA Cup, there is a lot of money to be won on backing against the lower sides, as the cup is notoriously famous for its ‘cupsets’. It’s now the round of 16, meaning the winners will progress to the quarter finals. The amount of cupsets decrease each round, but there is enough for us to win big once again. Who will get eliminated at this stage against odds?

Match One: Brighton vs Derby

In this round, there are no replays, so the match will go to extra time and penalties if required. For my first match, I believe Derby has what it takes to get a surprise win at the Premier League club. Derby are at 10/3 to win the match in 90 minutes. Brighton needed 210 minutes to get past West Brom in the previous round, and given their current form in the Premier League, they have entered the relegation scrap at the bottom, so this match may not be taken so seriously. Can Frank Lampard’s Derby, who knocked out Southampton already, get into the quarter final? Certainly.

Match Bet: Derby to qualify at 7/4 bet now betting on football

Match Two: Newport County vs Manchester City

Okay, off the bat I am not expecting Manchester City to be knocked out to Newport. Let’s not forget that League One Wigan knocked out Manchester City last season at the same stage, but Newport of League Two knocking out Manchester City would be considered the biggest shock in FA Cup history. However, even backing Newport to score can bring you great value odds. Newport need to be given credit, because last season they were close to eliminating Tottenham, and this season have already knocked out Leicester and Middlesbrough. They won’t qualify here, but what can they do? Score? Lose by a small margin? That would be considered a huge success for Newport County, in one of the biggest matches in their history.

Match Bet: Newpoint County to win with a 3+ goal handicap at 11/8 bet now betting on football

Match Three: AFC Wimbledon vs Millwall

The two teams responsible for the biggest shocks in the fourth round meet each other in the fifth. AFC Wimbledon comfortably beat West Ham 4-2, in a game that they were in control of for the most of the match. Millwall had some luck from the lack of VAR as they beat Everton in a hard-fought contest. The teams have been rewarded with draws against each other, which they would have both fancied, and are 90 minutes (and maybe more) away from reaching the last 8 of the FA Cup. Incredible achievement, but who will it be? AFC Wimbledon are the underdogs, being bottom of League One, but they can reproduce their performance again?

Match Bet: AFC Wimbledon to win in 90 minutes at 13/8 bet now betting on football

Bet Summary: For all those outcomes, you can add them to an accumulator which will increase the odds to 27/1.

‘Scorecast Double’

It’s always a popular bet to make, to win big earnings on football matches, and also to add more enjoyment to the game we are watching. We are all experts when it comes to predicting a score, and choosing a first goal scorer. However, combining the two will elevate up the odds significantly, and there is no better feeling when one of these comes off for you. Have you ever thought of betting on two of these coming through? This final bet is for the ultimate tipsters.

Match One: Augsburg vs Bayern Munich

Augsburg have struggled lately, as they sit near the bottom of the league in 15th, and Bayern Munich are edging back to their best, and scoring for fun as they usually do. Bayern don’t tend to struggle to score 3+ goals, but do have an issue with keeping a clean sheet. For the scorer? Most would choose Robert Lewandowski to score as he is prolific, but Leon Goretzka has scored the first goal frequently, with far better odds.

Match Bet: Leon Goretzka to score first and Bayern Munich to win at 35/1 bet now betting on football

Match Two: Juventus vs Frosinone

Juventus may rest players in this match as they host the team 19th placed in the league, just a few days prior to their crucial Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid. In the last match, a full strengthened Juventus won 2-0 courtesy of two late goals, including the first goal from Cristiano Ronaldo. Therefore, let’s see if we can boost our odds choosing some squad players to get the goal, in a closer match than many would anticipate. Also, Frosinone have a far better record away from home, so let’s hope they get a goal to increase our odds even more. I’m going to opt for Douglas Costa to score first in a 2-1 win.

Match Bet: Douglas Costa to score first and Juventus to win 2-1 at 45/1bet now betting on football

Bet Summary: For these two players to score first, and these two results to materialise, you will be rewarded with odds of 1,575/1. Feeling lucky?
