Welcome to another week of ‘expert’ football tips for the betting tipsters amongst us. After a successful prediction a fortnight ago, I was unable to live up to that high expectation I set myself last week. We all have blips, Juventus haven’t won in two matches, PSG lost their first league game of the season, and even Barcelona were held to a draw. Therefore, it happens to the best of us, but my aim is to provide you excellent insight, research and valuable odds ahead of an important weekend of fixtures, and ultimately you pocket some cash.

Across the weekend, we see Real and Atletico face-off in the Madrid derby, Manchester City need to beat Chelsea to stay in touch with Liverpool, and can Borussia Dortmund extend their 7-point lead at the top of Bundesliga? Let’s bring on another weekend of top action, as the title races start to intensify!

‘Bounce Back with a Bang’

Over the past week of football, all the league leaders in top divisions have dropped points. Juventus were held by Parma in a 3-3 draw, Liverpool drew with Leicester 1-1, and Barcelona had to come from 2-0 down to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw. All of those matches were at home, and many would have predicted the league leaders would have won. In addition to those teams, PSG lost their first league game of the season, losing 2-1 at Lyon. On paper, it’s one of the toughest fixtures all season for the side from the capital, but given their dominancy in the league, it still came as a surprise. For my first tip this week, I am going to back all of those teams to bounce back with a victory – and in style.

Match One: Liverpool vs Bournemouth

Liverpool had a bittersweet feeling last week when they saw rivals Manchester City lose to ex-Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle side. However, Liverpool failed to take advantage of that with a home draw against Leicester, and since then saw Manchester City return to winning ways with a dominant performance against Arsenal. Liverpool’s character will be tested in the next couple of games, particular when facing Everton and Manchester United away. However, in title races, it can often be the games you’d expect them to win where the surprises are. Liverpool will have to guard against complacency in this match, and I believe they will triumph in style.

Match Bet: Liverpool to score 4+ goals at 15/8.

Match Two: Sassuolo vs Juventus

Juventus have not won in two games now, and that’s the first time that can be said this season. Following their shock exit to Atalanta in the Italian Cup, they also threw away a 3-1 lead against Parma to draw 3-3 at home. The reasoning for their defensive incapability’s is that both Leanardo Bonucci and Georgio Chiellini are both injures, and the make-shift defence are failing at keeping their opposition at bay. Juventus have a tricky game at Sassuolo, but when the chips are down, Juventus managed to find quality and perseverance from somewhere to come through.

Match Bet: Juventus to win and there to be over 2.5 goals in the match at 11/8

Match Three: Athletic Bilbao vs Barcelona

Barcelona stumbled in their title race, but due to Atletico Madrid’s unlikely defeat at Real Betis, they managed to extend their lead at the top of La Liga to 6 points. Barcelona were not at the races against Valencia, and were deservedly 2-0 down in the match. Lionel Messi and co were able to wake up, and the little magician scored the two goals to drag it back to 2-2. Earlier on in the season, when Barcelona dropped points they struggled to bounce back with an instant win, but they will hope to do it against a side feeling sore after losing their local derby against Real Sociedad.

Match Bet: Barcelona to win to nil at 9/4

Match Four: PSG vs Bordeaux

Paris St-Germain may have already won the title with their 10-point advantage and two games in hand, but it’s been a bad couple of weeks for the champions-elect. Losing to bottom side Guingamp in the French League Cup, losing Neymar to injury meaning he will miss the Champions League clashes with Manchester United, and finally losing a league game this season to Lyon, preventing them from going the whole season unbeaten. Following PSG’s loss to Guingamp, they came back and won the next game 9-0, and I expect them to bounce back strongly here. Not quite the 9 goals though.

Match Bet: PSG to win both halves at 13/10

Bet Summary: For all of those bets to come to fruition in an accumulator, that is priced at 50/1.

‘Little Chance on Double Chance’

Winning on a double chance doesn’t tend to give you a lot of money back, as you are betting on two out of three possible outcomes. However, when backing a lesser side on a double chance, you can quickly see your odds rise significantly and there is money to be won. I am going to focus on the Premier League for this bet, as last week we saw Newcastle beat Manchester City, Bournemouth beat Chelsea, Liverpool draw to Leicester and Manchester United held at home to Burnley. Had you put a double chance against the top sides there, you’d be swimming in the money. For this week, let’s bet on the bottom three teams to not lose this weekend, if you are daring enough. It’s the Premier League after all, and anything can happen!

Match One: Fulham vs Manchester United

Manchester United on paper should win this comfortably, but that could also be said about their fixture against Burnley last week. There are no easy games in the Premier League, and Fulham came back from 2-0 down to beat Brighton 4-2 in their last home fixture. Claudio Ranieri’s Fulham are in danger of being cut adrift at the bottom, so they are in desperate need of points. Can they produce one of the performances of the season to get a result here?

Match Bet: Fulham to win or draw (double chance) at 6/5

Match Two: Huddersfield vs Arsenal

Huddersfield haven’t won a game in the Premier League since their win at Wolves at the end of November. In that period, they have only picked up one point, and will be the second time they are due to face Arsenal just over two months. Realistically, Arsenal tend to win games against the lower opposition but given their defensive worries, any team can fancy causing the Gunners backline some issues. Huddersfield haven’t taken any points from Arsenal in the league since 1971, but with spirit, effort and a bit of luck – they may surprise Arsenal here.

Match Bet: Huddersfield to win or draw (double chance) at 11/8bet now betting on football

Match Three: Southampton vs Cardiff

Cardiff remain in the bottom three but they are not too far adrift like the two previous teams mentioned. A win here would be critical for Cardiff, meaning they would overtake Southampton in the league table, and could even edge past Burnley too if the results go their way. Cardiff are unfancied to win here, given the fact they have only won one game away from home all season. A perfect time to make that two.

Match Bet: Cardiff to win or draw (double chance) at 1/1

Bet Summary: For those three teams to draw OR win, gives you kind odds of about 11/1 in an accumulator.

‘Hat-Trick Hero’

Following Sergio Aguero’s dubious hat-trick against Arsenal this past Sunday, it annoyed me how I didn’t highlight the chance of that happening, given that Aguero always scores past the gunners. Anyway, to make it up to you, I am going to back two players to score a hat-trick this week for their respective clubs and for you to win big.

Match One: Bayern Munich vs Schalke 04

Bayern Munich were beaten last week by Bayer Leverkusen despite taking a 1-0 lead in the game, as they lost 3-1. Some tipsters *cough* me *cough*, predicted the outcome to be the opposite. Nonetheless, Robert Lewandowski scored a goal on half time that looked just onside, and that would have been 2-0 to Bayern Munich – and maybe my prediction would have been correct! Anyway, I hope that Bayern Munich return to winning ways, and Robert Lewandowski gets a hat-trick as payback.

Match Bet: Robert Lewandowksi to score a hat-trick at 10/1. bet now betting on football

Match Two: Borussia Dortmund vs Hoffenheim

What Bayern Munich can do, Borussia Dortmund can do as well…right? That seems to be occurring all season as Dortmund extended their lead to 7 points at the top of the table. Dortmund may have be annoyed having dropped two points in their last game, but in hindsight it is a point gained. Marco Reus scored the goal, and he should have made it 2-0, but missed a glaring opportunity. He will feel responsible for the draw, and will want to get three goals against Hoffenheim to return his side to winning ways.

Match Bet: Marco Reus to score a hat-trick at 18/1 bet now betting on football

Bet Summary: For those two keen goal scorers to get a hat-trick this weekend, that is at a generous 180/1. Bet, and pray that this weekend will be a lucky one!
