Parma vs Juventus Serie A
It has only taken them two games, but Juventus already find themselves at the top of Serie A. This week, they travel to newly promoted and re-born Parma away from home. Juventus will be overwhelming favourites and Cristiano Ronaldo would hope that he scores his first competitive goal for the Old Lady.
The game will take on Saturday at 20:30, local time.
Home Team: Parma
Parma, the re-founded club, S.S.D. Parma Calcio 1913, was formed again in July 2015, and it took them three seasons to get back to Italy’s top flight. After financial issues, Parma find themselves where they belong. Their first two fixtures this season have seen them pick up just the one point, as they threw away a 2-0 lead against Udinese on the opening day, and followed that with a disappointed 1-0 defeat at the hands of S.P.A.L.
Their one point does see them in mid-table, but now they have an incredibly tough test to see if they can prevent Juventus from prevailing victorious, but nonetheless, it’s a fixture their fans were hoping they would see again after the debacle of what has happened in recent history.
Away Team: Juventus
Everyone is familiar with Ronaldo signing for the Serie A giants, but some other fantastic business came under the radar, when they re-signed defender Leanardo Bonucci who spent just one season at AC Milan. He partners Chiellini at the back, and they may be considered one of the best defensive partnerships in world football.
Juventus are sitting on top of the league, after two victories out of two. They had a tricky first match away at Chievo winning 3-2 with a last minute goal by uprising star Federico Bernardeschi. Their last fixture was more comfortable as they eased past Lazio 2-0 at home, with Pjanic scoring a fantastic goal in the process. They have so many high quality midfielders and attackers to choose from, it’s hard for the manager to keep them all happy.
The manager, Massimiliano Allegri, will expect a 8th Serie A title, but their main target will be to win the Champions League.
Head to Head
When the sides last faced each other in 2015, Parma actually ran out surprise winners with a 1-0 score line. The other leg of the fixture that season was 7-0 to Juventus, and that better fits a true representation of their dominance as they have only lost twice to Parma since 2004. However, Juventus do usually find their away fixtures to Parma far more complicated, and have only won one of their last four fixtures there.
It must be noted that this season though, there is a bigger gap between the two sides than ever before, and not many people are expecting an upset here.
Betting Tips and Predictions Parma vs Juventus
You’ll have to be a bold person if you are predicting anything but an away win here. Juventus have only lost once in their last 28 league matches, and that was at home. Juventus are 2/11 to pick up the victory here, with Parma being at 16/1 and a draw at 11/2.
No one had expected Parma to defeat Juventus three years ago, but they did, and the odds of 16/1 to a home match will not be matched this weekend for any fixture for the top-flight leagues across Europe. The most likely score line is 2-0 to Juventus at 9/2, but to boost chances of winning more money, try and opt for a 3-1 score line at 11/1, or even a 4-1 at 16/1.
For both teams to score, and the match to finish in a Juventus win, most bookmakers will give you prices of about 23/10, and my last tip would be to predict over 3.5 goals at 6/4.
