Wolves make a trip up north to Old Trafford to face Manchester United at 3:00pm local time on Saturday. Two Portuguese and former Porto managers will square off as Jose Mourinho and Nuno Espírito Santo go head to head. The latter used to play in goal for Jose Mourinho’s Porto back in 2004.

Manchester United’ resurgence and Wolves bright start to the season promises to bring an enthralling game this Saturday.

Home Team: Manchester United

manchester united betting on footballHas the pressure been temporarily released at Manchester United? Tough away wins against Burnley and Watford have shown their team has more character than some pundits had suggested. Now, they return to Old Trafford for the first time in nearly a month, as they were embarrassed by Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 on that occasion.

Manchester United will want to continue their winning streak and hope to dispose newly promoted Wolves. Lukaku is back amongst the goals, scoring three goals in their two most recent wins, and performances from Fellaini have made him earn the headlines. It seems that he is added to the team when playing a more physical side away from home, but not when playing more technical sides at home.

However, with Serbian Nemanja Matic being suspended, Fellaini looks to keep his place. Marcus Rashford will be serving his second game of his three match suspension following that straight red against Burnley.

Away Team: Wolves

wolves betting on footballWolves won the Championship in devastating fashion last season, and many had tipped them to have an impressive season back in the Premier League. So far, they are proving those tipsters to be absolutely correct. Despite their sole defeat to Leicester, they have managed to obtain 8 points from a possible 15, including a point against last season’s champions Manchester City – the only team to do so.

They have won their last two games 1-0, proving they can edge out close matches with that winning mentality. With Portuguese duo Moutinho and Neves in midfield, and attacking options such as Raul Jimenez, Helder Costa and Adama Traore, who tends to come off the bench, will certainly pose a threat at Old Trafford.

Head to Head

Manchester United have had no issue getting the three points at home when Wolves have come to town, however, this current outfit will hope to end their torrid record at Old Trafford. Wolves haven’t won at Old Trafford since 1980 in the old First Division. In the four Premier League encounters dating back to 2003 at Old Trafford, have all been won by the home side.

Wolves had been a bogey side to Manchester United beating them twice out of the four Premier League fixtures at the Molineux but at Old Trafford it had always been a different story.

Manchester United vs Wolves Predictions and Betting Tips

Manchester United are favourites at 8/15 to get the win, with Wolves at 11/2 to pull off a shock. A draw between the two sides is at 3/1. Despite Wolves impressing performances, I see a narrow home win here.

You can bet on Manchester United to win 1-0 OR 2-0 OR 2-1 at 13/8. Wolves always pose a threat, and Manchester United’s defence isn’t always the toughest to break down, so for both teams to score with Manchester United coming out on top is priced at 9/4.

Manchester United didn’t look convincing in a home win against Leicester, and were badly beaten by Tottenham 3-0 in there other home game this season. Therefore, if you think Wolves are likely to get a result, then it would be wise to bet on a 1-1 score line at 13/2.
