In the second half Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to Real Madrid on May 26 at Kiev Karius was injured in a collision with Sergio Ramos while defending a corner kick, he however stayed in the game and gave up two goals, which happened after the incident.

In a statement released on Monday Dr. Ross Zafonte and Dr. Lenore Herget had confirmed that Karius was examined at Boston’s General Hospital and at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital on Thursday.

In a statement the doctors said “Karius residual symptoms suggested that visual spatial dysfunction existed” after his collision and “such deficits would affect performance.” so have concluded Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius sustained a concussion during the Champions League final that ultimately would have affected his performance

Karius has reportedly improved since the incident and doctors do expect him to make a full recovery.
