The French league has had many disruptions in the last couple of weeks, meaning that both PSG and Nantes haven’t played a league game since the 5th of December. The matches have been postponed due to security reasons within France, but all being well, a full schedule of matches is expected to happen this weekend. PSG host Nantes at 9:00pm local time on Saturday, at the Parc Des Princes.

PSG

PSG will be slightly relieved that the league came to a halt, as they had drawn their two most recent league matches to Bordeaux and Strasbourg. These draws were the first times where PSG had not won in the league, so it had been proven by those clubs at the start of the December that you can prevent PSG from winning. In Europe, PSG eventually progressed from their tough group containing Liverpool and Napoli, and ended up topping the group.

In the next stage, they will face Manchester United, and will fancy their chances of progressing there and ultimately going into the latter stages of the tournament. The likes of Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe will be desperate to return to football action again, and will want to continue their impressive goal scoring record. Between the pair of them, they have scored 31 goals already this season.

Nantes

Nantes are slightly under performing in comparison to last season. They had achieved a top half finish in the 2017/2018 campaign, but currently find themselves a few points off where they would ideally like to be. Their form has been inconsistent for large parts of the season, as they are capable of winning 5-0 against Guingamp, 3-0 at Montpellier in the French Cup and 3-2 against Marseille, but have also been disappointing in games such as their 2-0 loss at Dijon, and their 3-0 loss to Bordeaux.

Nantes have only won twice on their travels all season, and that came back at the end of October. Nantes currently have a +0 goal difference, having scored and conceded 24 goals this season. Out of those 24 goals, highly rated Argentine striker Emiliano Sala has scored half of them, and he will be the biggest threat to PSG’s backline.

h2h Head to Head

It is certainly one-way traffic when these two teams meet each other. In the last 15 meetings, dating back to 2007, PSG have won on all occasions. Nantes haven’t taken a point from PSG since 2006, in a 1-1 draw at home. For their away form, it reads even worse, as they haven’t collected a point on their travels to PSG since 2002, when Nantes were able to pick up all three points in a 1-0 win.

In recent seasons, PSG have won with consummate ease, and usually the margin of win is at least by 2 goals, except their most recent encounter which was just 1-0 to PSG – Angel Di Maria with the solitary goal.

PSG vs Nantes Predictions and Betting Tips

PSG are at 1/9 to get an obvious win here, with Nantes at 20/1 to record their first victory here in 16 years. A draw, which is also unlikely, is priced at 8/1. PSG have won all of their home games this season in the league, and only Napoli in the Champions League, have avoided defeat. It’s a question of how many, and not if.

I believe PSG can win this game 4-1, which is priced at 11/1. You will be rewarded for picking PSG to win by a lower scoreline, so if you want to boost your earnings, you can back PSG to win and there to be less than 3.5 goals at 6/5, or less than 2.5 goals at a generous 3/1. Finally, for the pairing of both Neymar and Kylian Mbappe to score, that is at 5/2, and should be given considerable thought.
