The second FA Cup semi-final this weekend brings Watford against Wolves. The match will kick off at Wembley, at 4:00pm local time, on Sunday. Who will return to Wembley in May?

Home Team: Watford

Watford go into this match after a comfortable win against Fulham in midweek, which relegated their opponents from the Premier League. Manager Javi Gracia didn’t rest any players, and played a strong team which will inevitably build confidence for one of their biggest ever games in their history this upcoming Sunday.

Watford have had to overcome Woking, Newcastle, QPR and Crystal Palace to reach the semi-finals, as they try to reach their first ever final since 1984 – their only previous FA Cup final performance. Watford have suffered many heartbreaks along the way, losing at this particular stage, but can this current crop of players, captained by Troy Deeney, create history?

Away Team: Wolves

Just as Watford did on Tuesday night, Wolves also fielded a strong side in their Premier League outing with Manchester United, and unbelievably beat them for the 2nd time in just over a fortnight. Wolves did lose to Burnley this past weekend though, and they have been known to squander many points against the relegation battlers all season. Nonetheless, Wolves have always raised their game on the big occasions, and manager Nuno Espirito Santo will hope for the same on Sunday.

Wolves have had to beat Liverpool, Shrewsbury (after a replay), Bristol City and Manchester United to reach the semi-finals. They haven’t won the FA Cup since 1960, but now just find themselves two games away from earning some silverware again in their history. Wolves fans will already be delighted with their league form, but booking a final at Wembley will make them have to pinch themselves.

Head to Head

Watford and Wolves have been drawn together 5 times in FA Cup history. The first meeting was back in 1912, where a 0-0 draw at Watford forced a replay to be played at Wolves – in which the hosts incredibly won 10-0. Their other four meetings in the cup were a lot more recent, with Watford winning their only ever meeting with Wolves in a 3-0 win in 1980. Wolves knocked out the Watford just one year later, in 1993 and most recently in 2008 – with the most recent two finishing in 4-1 wins. The sides have met in the league already this season with Watford winning 2-0 away at Wolves, and the sides are due to face each other again at the end of the month.

Expert Predictions and Betting Tips

[geot exclude_country=”US,CA” ]bet now betting on football[/geot] Wolves are slight favourites to win at 13/10, with Watford at 21/10 to win in 90 minutes. For the sides to draw, which would take it to extra time, it’s at 9/4. You can also bet on either team to qualify, with Wolves at 4/6, and Watford at 11/10. It’s a tough one to call, but Wolves may have the edge due to their star quality, and their resilience in defence. Watford may player a better style of football at times, but I see Wolves edging this semi-final. I predict it will be a draw at full time, but for Wolves to get an extra-time winner, which is priced at 10/1. In the 90 minutes, I believe the score line will be 1-1 at 5/1. For goal scorers, I expect Diogo Jota to score for Wolves at any time at 23/10, with Troy Deeney scoring for Watford at any time at 5/2. You can back both of them to score, to increase the odds to 12/1.

[geot country=”US,CA” ]bet now betting on football[/geot] For some specials, you can back a penalty to be scored by either team at 5/2, both teams to score in the 2nd half at 5/2, or even there to be more than 3.5 goals at 11/4. Finally, for the tipsters out there, backing either team to win from behind always offers value, with Wolves at 12/1, and Watford at 16/1.
