In this weekend’s Super Sunday clash, we see an in-form Arsenal host Everton at the Emirates Stadium. The visitors will be disappointed having lost their most recent match at home to West Ham, who were bottom of the league at the time.

Two new managers will meet this Sunday as Unai Emery and Marco Silva both look to analyse how their tactics are being implemented, six games going into the season.

Home Team: Arsenal

arsenal betting on footballIt was all rather doom and gloom for Arsenal after their first two fixtures of the season. They eere being simply outplayed by Manchester City on the opening day, and then that was followed by a 3-2 defeat against London rivals Chelsea, and it was not the start Arsenal fans had hoped for following the departure of Arsene Wenger.

However, a bad situation could have easily got into a terrible situation had they continued to lose games or even drop points. However, they have managed to get three successive wins on the bounce, beating West Ham, Cardiff and most recently, Newcastle. Their two most recent wins were away from home, which will be taken very well by the Arsenal fans who had to endure many defeats on the road last season.

It’s only three games, but those wins will give them a lot of confidence, and fourth consecutive win can take them up to as high as their familiar position – fourth. Ozil and Xhaka, two players that tend to divide opinion bagged the goals in their most recent match, so maybe the new manager is getting the best from his players.

Away Team: Everton

everton betting on footballMediocre. Standard. Underwhelming. Those three words are potentially what Everton fans are thinking when it comes to summarising their start to the season. They will have been optimistic bringing in Marco Silva, and many new signings but the truth is that they have only been able to muster one win from their opening five matches.

They recently lost at home to West Ham, which could have been seen as the shock of the weekend, and that match proved that Everton are far from where they want to be. They now travel to a stadium where they have had a terrible record, and will hope that a good bit of fortune will come there will.

Theo Walcott will return to the Emirates to face his former club, and could it be in the script for him to haunt his old club? Everton fans will certainly hope so!

Head to Head

Look away Everton fans.

First of all, it has to be said that this fixture has been one of the most played fixtures in English league history, as on Sunday they will meet for the 211th time. In those previous encounters, Arsenal have won 105, to Everton’s 60.

That is slightly one-side but in the era since Arsenal Wenger the evidence is more damning for the visitors. Everton have struggled to get results against Arsenal, particularly away from home. At the Emirates, or Arsenal’s old stadium Highbury, Everton have yet to win since 1996.

Everton haven’t managed a draw there since 2013, and in their most recent visit, Arsenal ran out 5-1 victors.

Arsenal vs Everton  Predictions and Betting Tips

Even though Everton haven’t won at the Emirates stadium since it was built in 2006, their manager has. Marco Silva won as Olympiakos manager back in 2015, and for him to get another win against Arsenal is priced at 11/2.

Arsenal are overwhelming favourites to make it four wins on the bounce, as they are at 4/9. A draw is priced at 18/5. Another Sunday clash, and I am going to go for another Sunday upset.

Last week Everton were the ones shocked, but I think that they have a chance here to get a point. A 2-2 draw is at 14/1 and that would be my first tip. Former Arsenal player Theo Walcott is at 10/3 to score in 90 minutes, and the way football does scripts, that bet has to certainly be considered.

If you want to win big money, but expect Arsenal to win comfortably, boost your odds by selecting Alexandre Lacazette to score first in a 3-1 win, at 28/1.
